Welcome Immersion - (offsite retreat — Lick Creek Farm)
Ritual is essential to all cultures. During this ritual beginning, we will set the foundation for teaching vinyasa flow yoga by diving into the roots of yoga and examining the many branches of vinyasa flow. Begin the process of svadhyaya as you look at why you are teaching yoga and what it means to be of service to others. We will explore foundational elements of a class, the essential nature of prana, and set the stage for the following modules. Topics covered include vinyasa krama, the relationship between poses, essential elements in a class, intro to sequencing and — in every module — practice teaching.

Restorative Poses/Full Experience of Being a Student and Teacher of Flow
We will end as we began — with a ritual. As we examine the sutra that runs through our lives, our practice and through our experience learning to teach, we'll set some sacred time aside to honor the past 6 months. We'll weave all the teachings together in a collective experience that incorporates all the principles of prana flow and shares examples of our own teaching with the community. We will learn restorative poses, best applications, appropriate set ups and use of props. We will discuss the use of sacred texts, poetry or other inspired works as inspiration for class themes. Learn the art of using music effectively in classes and how to create a collective experience. And, of course, we'll celebrate the journey which will continue for the rest of your life.
